Pulled together a little kielbasa dish tonight for Jim and Brian, it was pretty darn tasty!
You will need:
- One Kielbasa
- One can of diced tomatoes
- Some pre-made tortellini
- A few cloves (about 3, use your good judgment) of garlic
- Sriracha Sauce, parsley flakes, basil, oregano, salt, pepper
Step One: Cut up your kielbasa, slices about half an inch thick and coat your slices with parsley flakes. Fry your slices up in some olive oil in a saucepan until they are nice and brown and set them aside between some paper towels to drain off some of that fat.
Step Two: After you are done frying up the kielbasa, throw the garlic (p up real fine of grated), whole can of diced tomatoes (I ended up throwing in like a 1/4 cup of water too so everything could cook down a little more), basil, oregano, salt, pepper and a nice squirt of that sriracha sauce. Let this cook down for 15 - 20 minutes.
Step Three: Cook up your pre-made tortellini according to the directions on the package.
Serve it all up in a bowl (I tried to make it pretty like in the first picture) and chow down! It has a nice kick to it so you can skip the sriracha sauce if you aren’t into that, I also put in a LOT of black pepper so that might have had something to do with it as well. You can also use a different kind of sausage according to what you have on hand. This is great with leftover Italian sausage and if you are looking for a more waist friendly option turkey kielbasa is delicious and way better for you.
Enjoy!
